Accuplacer Assessment

In cooperation with IVY Tech Community College, Hinds Career Center is an authorized test center for the Accu-Placer® series of exams.

Accu-Placer® is a computer-based set of placement and diagnostic tests in mathematics, reading, and writing that helps IVY Tech Community College place students into appropriate courses and maximizes the information needed to ensure student success.

The computer adaptive format adjusts the difficulty level to the skills of the individual student, eliminating items that are too easy or too difficult and that contribute little to the measurement. Because the assessments are untimed, each person can start and stop at different times. This advantage greatly reduces test anxiety for many who may otherwise feel pressure during timed testing situations.

Test sessions should be scheduled with Tami Davis, testing coordinator, at 765-552-1900, extension 1509.
